Soapstone curd pots are good for setting and storing curd because they have natural cooling properties and can prevent curd from spoiling quickly. Here are some other benefits of soapstone curd pots:

Thick curd: Soapstone pots are ideal for making thick curd, which sets in 5–6 hours.

Retains heat: Soapstone retains heat, which helps keep milk warmer for longer and ensures curd sets faster and thicker.

Retains nutrients: Soapstone retains up to 98% of the nutrients in food cooked in it.

Disclaimer: Kindly note, 750ml-1500ml capacity cookwares are made on order basis. Will take 7-10 days to ship. Also, the size/capacity of the cookware may vary slightly, since it is handmade.

How to season the soapstone cookware?

To season a curd pot, begin by preparing a thick paste using rice flour, a pinch of salt, and a small amount of water. Use this paste to scrub the inside of the pot thoroughly, then rinse it with clean water. Repeat the scrubbing process once more to ensure the pot is well cleaned. Next, pour rice water (the leftover water from rinsing or boiling rice) into the pot, filling it halfway, and let it sit undisturbed for 24 to 48 hours. This step helps the pot absorb the rice water. After this time, discard the rice water and scrub the pot again with the rice flour paste before rinsing it well. Your curd pot is now fully seasoned and ready for use in fermenting curd.
