Product Description

The Korai Pandhi Pai is a traditional korai grass mat made for floor seating and dining during gatherings and family events. Handwoven from naturally dried korai grass, this pai reflects long-standing practices that bring people together while ensuring comfort during meals. When placed on the floor for pandhi (traditional floor dining), this mat provides a comfortable and stable surface that improves the dining experience. The natural korai grass weave allows airflow and offers gentle cushioning, helping people sit comfortably for longer periods while enjoying their meals. Its earthy texture gives a warm, traditional feel, reminding people of festive occasions, weddings, temple functions, and ancestral homes. The Pandhi Korai Pai is easy to roll, store, and maintain. Artisan story

Pattamadai heritage, woven slowly by hand.

Every Pattamadai Pai begins with natural korai grass prepared by patient hands in Tirunelveli. Skilled artisans split, soften, colour and weave it slowly into a mat made for prayer rooms, floor seating and meaningful gifting. Its value is in the time, precision and heritage carried in every line.
